Valley Trauma Center (VTC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the elimination of sexual and interpersonal violence through healing, empowerment, and increased public awareness of prevention strategies.

Valley Trauma Center (VTC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the elimination of sexual and interpersonal violence through healing, empowerment, and increased public awareness of prevention strategies. We work with communities to provide quality crisis intervention and counseling services, trainings, and prevention education to promote social change.

Valley Trauma Center is affiliated with the Educational Psychology Department of California State University, Northridge.

Services

Valley Trauma Centers provides a 24-Hour Sexual Assault Emergency Response Team, counseling, and prevention education to over 15,000 individuals annually. In addition, Valley Trauma Center has expanded its case management and counseling services as a Los Angeles County Family Preservation Program lead agency.

Valley Trauma Center counseling, crisis intervention services, and prevention education programs are available in Spanish and English; other languages are offered when available.

Service Area

The Centers service area covers nearly 457 square miles of Los Angeles County, including both the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, with a culturally rich and ethnically diverse population of approximately 1.8 million.

  VTC Statistics

  • We receive approximately 1130 calls to our hotline a year.
  • We provide approximately 675 accompaniments each year.
  • Our Prevention Education team makes approximately 350 rape prevention presentations a year.

Population Served

Valley Trauma Center is a multicultural organization that serves people of all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, youth and children, men, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, the LGBT community, elderly, physically or developmentally disabled, and recent immigrants.

History

VTC has provided sexual assault prevention and intervention services to the San Fernando Valley since 1986 and the Santa Clarita Valley since 1998.
