Systems Services provides intensive in-home services to families
with the goal of coordinating multidisciplinary services in the
community to alleviate and/or prevent abuse and neglect risk factors.
These services are sponsored by the Department of Children
and Family Services (DCFS).
Family Systems Services consist of three different programs,
Family Preservation Program, Alternate Response and Child Abuse
Prevention Intervention and Treatment (C.A.P.I.T.).
Trauma Center's Family Preservation Program is designed to protect
children by strengthening and preserving families whose children
are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
enrolled in the Family Preservation Program are first referred
by the Department of Children and Family Services and the Los
Angeles County Probation Department. Families then engage in a
process of self-discovery and education that empowers individual
family members to identify and resolve problems early and safely.
Relationship and/or Sexual Assault Crisis Response
case planning with dynamic, goal-oriented family involvement
in plan design and implementation
Specific referrals for education, job training, mental health
counseling, substance abuse treatment, housing and employment
assistance, and health care
Advisory Councils to ensure high quality service provision
counseling to improve family dynamics and behaviors
program provides services to families reported to DCFS for which
allegations of abuse or neglect are unsubstantiated or inconclusive
and the Childrens Social Worker (CSW) has assessed that child
safety will be enhanced by involving the family in this service.
Alternate Response Services has a duration of three months
and includes in-home counseling, individual counseling, parenting,
and family specific referrals in effort to help the family meet
their goals in keeping their children safe.

Abuse and Neglect Prevention Intervention and Treatment (C.A.P.I.T.)
services consist of individual, family, and group counseling,
in-home services, case management services, parenting education
and support groups. There is a 24-hour telephone availability
to agencys clients. These
cases are referred through various community agencies such as
DCFS and Valley Trauma Centers Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.)
and the community itself.

by the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department
of Mental Health and the Probation Department.
